Engine Timing Tool Set for Renault Nissan Fiat Mercedes 2.0 dCi M9R OM699 (Chain Drive)

Professional tool set for setting and checking timing chain alignment on modern 2.0 dCi engines of the “Blue” generation (from model year 2019).

Used for:

• Timing chain adjustment
• Verification after engine repair
• Installation and removal of high-pressure fuel pump
• Checking and correcting pump position

Ensures precise synchronization of engine components according to manufacturer specifications.

High-Pressure Pump Alignment

Accurate timing adjustment requires verification of the high-pressure pump position.

The included measuring adapter with markings and lockable sliding element allows precise positioning and control.

Timing alignment must also match:

• Colored chain links
• Cylinder head markings
• Camshaft and crankshaft alignment marks

Camshaft System Note

Camshafts are driven via gears with backlash compensation.
After complete removal, these components should be replaced and preloaded according to OE procedures.

Compatibility Note

The tool set also supports Mercedes OM699 engines, which:

• Do not require base adjustment of the high-pressure pump

For older M9R engines, use item no. 999082.

Service Notes

• High-pressure pump is supplied without drive gear
• Requires holding tool item no. 124960 for installation/removal
• Removal recommended with separator tool item no. 117658

Crankshaft seal:

• Must be replaced after each removal (bayonet type)
• Recommended: Elring seals (e.g. 260.320 with installation tool)

Front cover removal:

• Recommended tool: item no. 116510 (brass blade tool)

Torque Specifications

Renault Trafic III 2.0 dCi M9R.710:

• Crankshaft central bolt: 150 Nm + 200°
• HP pump sprocket nut: 50 Nm + 50°
• Intake camshaft bolt: 20 Nm + 35°
• Camshaft sprocket bolts: 10 Nm + 40°
• Tensioner / guides: 25 Nm

Mercedes X-Class OM699.300:

• Crankshaft central bolt: 100 Nm + 150°
• HP pump sprocket nut: 90 Nm
• Camshaft sprocket bolts: 10 Nm + 40°
• Intake camshaft bolt: 30 Nm
• Tensioner / guides: 25 Nm

Special Note

For Renault Koleos models, older tool versions are required:
