The 12V Automotive Relay Tester is a fast and easy-to-use diagnostic tool designed for testing common automotive relays in vehicles with 12V electrical systems. The device allows technicians to quickly determine whether a relay is operating correctly without requiring additional measuring equipment.

The tester automatically monitors relay pin configuration, verifies relay contact functionality, and measures the switching response time during repeated test cycles. A built-in dual-color LED indicator immediately displays the test result for rapid diagnosis.

Suitable for workshops, vehicle diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, and maintenance applications.

Features

✔ Fast and user-friendly relay testing process
✔ Suitable for common automotive relays with coil resistance above 20 Ω
✔ Supports 12V vehicle electrical systems (maximum 15V)
✔ Compatible with both 4-pin and 5-pin relays
✔ Automatic relay pin configuration identification
✔ Verifies relay contact functionality
✔ Tests contact opening and closing response times
✔ Built-in dual-color LED status indication
✔ Compact design for workshop and mobile use

Technical Specifications

  • Operating voltage: 12V DC (maximum 15V)
  • Relay compatibility: Common automotive relays
  • Supported relay types: 4-pin and 5-pin relays
  • Minimum relay coil resistance: >20 Ω
  • Status indication: Dual-color LED
  • Power connection: Battery clamps (red/black crocodile clips)

Operating Procedure

  1. Connect the power supply cable to the vehicle's 12V battery:
    • Connect the black crocodile clip to battery negative (-)
    • Connect the red crocodile clip to battery positive (+)
  2. The tester is ready when the LED lights red.
  3. Select relay type before inserting the relay:
    • Set switch to 4 PIN for 4-pin relays
    • Set switch to 5 PIN for 5-pin relays
  4. Insert the relay into the appropriate relay socket.
  5. Press the test button to begin testing.
  6. The tester checks relay pin configuration:
    • Red LED indicates incorrect pin layout or damaged relay terminals.
  7. If the pin configuration is correct, the tester activates the relay ten consecutive times:
    • Contact opening and closing times are measured.
    • Red LED indicates exceeded switching time limits.
  8. The tester verifies relay consistency:
    • Green LED = relay passed the test
    • Red LED = relay fault detected
  9. Disconnect the battery cables and remove the relay after testing.

Applications

Suitable for:

✔ Automotive workshops
✔ Vehicle electrical diagnostics
✔ Fault detection in relay systems
✔ Automotive maintenance and repair
✔ Professional and DIY use
