Balance Shaft & Centrifuge Locking Tool for Mercedes OM629 (as W629589002100)

This special tool is designed for counter-holding and locking the centrifuge and balance shaft in the TDC (Top Dead Center) position on Mercedes-Benz OM629 engines.

It is essential when working on the internal guide rail of the first cylinder bank, as well as during servicing or alignment of the oil centrifuge and balance shaft.

Functionality

The tool ensures secure fixation of the balance shaft and centrifuge, preventing unwanted movement during service procedures. This allows precise alignment and safe handling of internal engine components.

Important Notes

• Removal of the balance shaft requires gearbox removal, as it must be extracted towards the rear
• To access the lower bolt, rotate the vibration damper until its recess aligns with the bolt
• The central bolt of the centrifuge / balance shaft has a left-hand thread

Torque Specifications (Reference OM629.910 – W211 E420 CDI)

• Centrifuge to balance shaft bolt: 25 Nm + 90°
• Centrifuge cover to crankcase: 9 Nm
