Specialized tool designed for locking the crankshaft via the flywheel on Hyundai and Kia hybrid (HEV, PHEV) and electric vehicles.
Unlike conventional combustion engines, these vehicles do not feature a starter ring gear on the flywheel. Instead, a dedicated profile is integrated into the flywheel, allowing this tool to securely engage and hold the crankshaft in position.
Functionality
This flywheel locking tool is essential for procedures requiring crankshaft immobilization, such as:
- Loosening or tightening the crankshaft central bolt
- Servicing the vibration damper
- Working on the crankshaft pulley system
It ensures stable positioning and prevents unwanted rotation during high-torque operations.
