Four-Point Extension Kit for 170 cm Engine Support Bridge

This extension kit converts the standard two-point wing-supported engine bridge, Item no. 120616, into a four-point support system.

The additional support points allow the bridge to be positioned according to the vehicle construction and the manufacturer’s repair requirements. Possible supporting locations include the strut towers, front lock carrier and longitudinal members behind the headlights.

For Engine and Gearbox Repairs

Many procedures require the engine to be supported, lowered or raised safely. These include:

• Timing-belt replacement
• Timing-chain replacement
• Gearbox removal
• Subframe removal
• Engine and drivetrain repairs

The four-point configuration distributes the load across suitable structural areas and enables use on vehicles where the wings cannot safely support a conventional engine bridge.

Suitable for Modern Vehicle Designs

Compact vehicles and vans often have short front sections and steeply sloping wings, making conventional two-point engine bridges difficult or impossible to position.

SUVs and larger passenger vehicles may exceed the working width of standard 150 cm engine bridges. Plastic wings, pedestrian-impact protection systems and body designs without supporting structures beneath the wings can also prevent conventional support.

The extension kit provides adjustable support points for these vehicle configurations.

The extra-wide and robust design is suitable for most passenger cars and light commercial vehicles, including:

• Opel Movano
• Fiat Ducato
• Volkswagen Transporter T4, T5, T6 and T7
• Other comparable vans and transporters

Vehicle-specific positioning and the manufacturer’s repair instructions must always be observed.

Compatibility

The extension kit is designed for the 170 cm engine support bridge, Item no. 120616.

It can also be used with other engine support bridges with beam dimensions of up to approximately:

• Height: 65 mm
• Width: 85 mm

A minimum engine-bridge width of 160 cm is recommended.

• 2 × support-foot extensions, 122 mm, no. 8
• 2 × support-foot extensions, 305 mm, no. 9
• 6 × M12 × 16 mm hand screws, no. 10
• 2 × M12 × 20 mm hand screws, no. 11
• 2 × bolts with washers for mounting the crossbeam mounts to the base supports, no. 12
• 2 × washers for the M12 × 16 mm hand screws, no. 13

The engine support bridge is not included.
