This adapter plate is designed for installing the front crankshaft oil seal on BMW S55 engines.
It is used together with the installation sleeve from tool set Item no. 117411, to be used as BMW 110371, 110372, 119235 and 119231. This combination enables the crankshaft oil seal to be installed evenly and without damage.
Important Installation Instructions
The compatible crankshaft oil seals are PTFE radial shaft seals.
- Do not touch the sealing lips.
- The seal and installation surfaces must remain completely free from oil and grease.
- Install the seal dry and in accordance with the vehicle manufacturer’s specifications.
Failure to follow these instructions may damage the sealing lip and cause premature oil leakage.
