Front Crankshaft Oil Seal Installation Tool for Ford EcoBoost and VAG TSI, TFSI, as T10485, 303-1721

This tool set is designed for pressing front PTFE crankshaft oil seals into position on compatible Ford and VAG engines.

It is suitable for selected 1.0L, 1.2L, 1.3L, 1.4L and 1.5L MPI, TSI, TFSI and EcoBoost engines used in vehicles from model year 2009 onward.

The three-part sleeve system guides, centres and presses the oil seal evenly onto the crankshaft, helping to prevent deformation or damage to the PTFE sealing lip.

Suitable Vehicles

Selected VAG and Ford vehicles equipped with the listed engines from model year 2009 onward.

Important Installation Instructions

PTFE radial shaft seals must always be installed dry.

• Do not use oil, grease or other lubricants.
• Keep the oil seal and all installation surfaces completely clean and free from oil and grease.
• Do not start the engine until at least 4 hours after installation.
• Follow the vehicle manufacturer’s repair instructions for the respective application.

The setting time allows the PTFE sealing lip to adapt correctly to the crankshaft surface.

Installation Procedure

• Slide the oil seal onto the fitting sleeve, as T10485/3, with its front side facing forward.
• Position the guide sleeve on the collar of the fitting sleeve.
• Slide the oil seal from the fitting sleeve onto the guide sleeve.
• Remove the fitting sleeve.
• Position the oil seal centrally on the crankshaft.
• Use the installation sleeve and the original mounting bolt to press the oil seal evenly into position.
