Accurate Return Flow Measurement for Common Rail Injectors

This professional return flow meter allows precise diagnosis of common rail engines with solenoid-controlled injectors. It supports engines with up to 6 injectors and is compatible with multiple injector manufacturers, including Denso, Bosch, Siemens, and Delphi.

Complete Set for Efficient Diagnostics

The kit includes:

  • 6 measuring cups, each with 70 cm connection hoses, mounted on a sturdy aluminum bar with hooks

  • 24 high-quality adapters for various injector models: Denso C3/C1, Bosch, Siemens C3, Delphi C4

This setup enables quick and accurate detection of injector problems without unnecessary disassembly.

Flexible Measurement Options

The return flow can be measured either:

  • Directly through the injector connection

  • Via existing return fuel lines

Visual comparison of fluid levels in the measuring cylinders allows rapid identification of faulty injectors.

Why Return Flow Measurement is Important

Defective injectors can cause serious engine problems:

  • Uneven or missing idling

  • Power loss

  • Black or blue exhaust smoke

  • Misfiring

  • Knocking combustion

  • Overheating damage to pistons, valves, and cylinder walls

By comparing return flow from each cylinder, you can quickly locate injector issues and prevent costly engine damage.

How the Test Works

  1. Connect adapters directly to injectors or via return lines.

  2. Start the engine at idle.

  3. Compare fluid levels in the measuring cups:

    • Equal levels → injectors are likely fine

    • Unequal levels → one or more injectors need replacement

  4. Extremely fast filling may indicate pump, pressure regulator, or injector control issues.

Tip: For engines that do not start, mark hoses (~5 cm) to observe small differences without overloading the starter motor.

Note on Piezoinjectors

For piezo-controlled injectors, a separate measurement method with positive/negative pressure measurement is required. Recommended equipment: Art-Nr. 116154.
