Overview:
✔ Walnut shell blasting machine for engine intake and valve cleaning
✔ Removes carbon deposits from intake valves and components
✔ Simultaneous blasting and vacuum extraction system
✔ Includes 2 kg walnut shell media – ready to use
✔ Reusable media with integrated filtration system
✔ Suitable for professional workshop use
This walnut shell blasting machine is designed for gentle and effective removal of carbon deposits inside engine intake systems. It uses walnut shell media to clean intake valves, intake manifolds, throttle bodies, swirl flaps, and EGR valves without damaging engine components.
Efficient Carbon Cleaning System
The system combines blasting and vacuum extraction in one process. The walnut granulate removes carbon buildup, while the integrated suction system collects residues and separates them via a built-in filter, allowing the media to be reused multiple times.
Advantages of Walnut Shell Media
- Gentle and environmentally friendly cleaning method
- Media is softer than metal but harder than carbon deposits
- Removes contamination without damaging engine surfaces
- Residual particles burn off safely inside the engine

Preliminary Information:
In modern direct injection engines of all brands, unlike port fuel injection systems, there is no cleaning effect on the intake ports in the cylinder head or on the intake valves.
Due to exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), short-distance driving, oil vapors, poor fuel quality, low engine speed operation, and complex intake geometries, hydrocarbon and oil residues accumulate over time and operating hours.
The initial symptoms include unstable idle speed, poor throttle response, deteriorated emissions values, and reduced acceleration caused by improper airflow turbulence in the intake system.
In later stages, these deposits can prevent proper closing of the intake valves and impair heat dissipation, potentially leading to complete engine failure. There is also a risk that loosened deposits may cause severe engine damage.
Additionally, poor combustion increases wear on other engine components and parts.
For this reason, it is recommended to clean the intake system every 40,000–50,000 km or after approximately 2 years of operation. This can be performed particularly effectively and gently using a walnut shell blasting device.
Walnut shell granulate is a natural abrasive polishing material. It is softer than metal but harder than carbon deposits. This allows contaminants to be removed effectively without damaging engine components.
If small residues of the granulate remain in the engine after cleaning, no damage will occur, as the material combusts completely at relatively low temperatures without leaving residue.
Procedure:
- Remove the intake manifold.
Caution: Before cleaning, ensure that the intake valves are closed. If necessary, rotate the crankshaft in the normal engine rotation direction. - Connect the hoses to the walnut blasting unit.
- Open the device lid, remove the filter, and fill in 2–4 kg of walnut shell granulate (grain size Ø 0.4–0.8 mm).
Reinstall the filter and securely close the lid. - Connect an air compressor (minimum 7 bar) to the blasting unit via the compressed air connection.
- Wear appropriate protective equipment (safety goggles, and gloves if necessary).
- Connect the device to the power supply and switch it on.
- Attach a suitable adapter to the extraction hose to ensure a proper seal at the valve opening.
Insert the blasting gun through the opening of the extraction nozzle. - The cleaning process can now begin. The blasting intensity can be adjusted on the gun if required.
Note: Depending on the level of contamination, the granulate can be reused approximately 5–10 times.
The integrated filter collects the removed carbon deposits and separates them from the granulate.
