This special tool set is designed for the removal and installation of compact wheel bearing units on the rear axle of selected Citroën, Opel, Peugeot and Toyota vehicles.
On these vehicle platforms, the wheel bearing is factory-assembled together with the wheel hub and must be replaced as a complete unit. During installation, it is essential that force is applied to the bearing outer race rather than the wheel hub itself, as applying pressure through the bearing races can cause immediate bearing damage and premature failure.
This tool set enables complete wheel bearing and wheel hub unit replacement directly on the vehicle without removing the steering knuckle or ABS sensor, significantly reducing repair time.

Removal
- Screw the five supplied long bolts into the threaded holes of the wheel bolt mounting points.
- Tighten the bolts alternately and evenly in a crisscross pattern.
This will press the compact wheel bearing unit out of the steering knuckle.
Installation
- Position the half-shells on the new compact wheel bearing unit and secure them with the supplied bolts.
- Place the pressure plate with the five pressure pins onto the bearing.
- Install the bearing assembly, including the spindle, onto the steering knuckle.
- Align the flattened pressure piece so that the recess matches the ABS sensor position and secure it with the nut on the spindle.
This allows the bearing to be pressed in without removing or damaging the ABS sensor.
- Initially tighten the entire assembly by hand only and ensure that the bearing is aligned correctly.
- Install the bearing by turning the spindle while simultaneously holding the nut stationary. Do not use pneumatic tools.
- During installation, ensure that the bearing remains properly aligned.
If the bearing becomes misaligned, its position can be corrected with light hammer taps.
- Continue pressing the bearing in until the compact wheel bearing unit is fully seated against the internal stop of the steering knuckle.
- The special tool can then be removed.
