A/C Leak Detection Starter Set for Forming Gas, R134a High / Low Pressure, incl. Pressure Regulator

This high-quality starter set is designed for leak detection on R134a air conditioning systems using forming gas (95% nitrogen / 5% hydrogen). It provides the workshop or mechanic with a complete solution for professional leak testing and diagnostic work on automotive A/C systems.

During the test procedure, the entire A/C system can be pressurised on both the low-pressure and high-pressure sides. Leak detection can then be carried out by monitoring pressure via the gauges, by using a forming gas leak detector (“sniffer”), and where required also by using UV leak detection dye or leak detection spray.

The included additional pressure gauge allows the A/C system to be monitored during operation and makes it possible to check the filling pressure quickly and easily.

Forming gas offers an advantage over refrigerant or pure nitrogen for leak testing, because the hydrogen molecules are smaller and therefore make it easier to detect very small leaks.

Important note

According to legal requirements, an A/C system must not be recharged if a leak is suspected. A professional leak test must first be carried out and the system must be confirmed as leak-free before refilling.
