This professional timing chain riveting tool set is designed for servicing and replacing timing chains on Mercedes engines equipped with Simplex and Duplex chains.
It allows efficient removal and installation of timing chains without the need to fully dismantle the timing chain housing.

Short Usage Instructions (Timing Chain Replacement Tool)
- Connect the new timing chain to the old chain using the connecting link (chain lock, plate, and clip).
- Remove the crankshaft locking pins.
- Slowly rotate the crankshaft in the normal engine direction.
- As the new chain feeds in, pull the old chain out evenly from the chain housing.
Note: Ensure the chain does not skip during rotation. - Remove the old timing chain.
- Join the ends of the new chain using the rivet link (and center plate if applicable).
- Insert the correct guide tool into the holder and secure it with a screw.
- Place the movable pressure piece for the outer plate into the riveting tool.
- Insert the outer plate into the pressure piece.
- Position the tool so the support bridges rest on the rollers of the rivet link.
- Tighten the spindle until resistance is felt.
Note: Ensure the rivet pins are pressed into the outer plate holes. - Remove the tool.
- Reposition the pressure piece onto the rivet profile.
- Align the tool centrally over the rivet pin.
- Tighten the spindle to 30–35 Nm.
- Rivet each pin of the link individually.
- Inspect the rivets and re-rivet if necessary.
