Timing Chain Tool Set for PSA EB2/EB3 1.2L Gen 3 Engines, as G0109-7A and G0109-7B

This special tool set is designed for timing chain replacement and engine repair work on third-generation PSA EB2/EB3 engines.

Unlike the previous generation, these engines use a timing chain instead of an oil-bathed timing belt. The first chain-driven EB2/EB3 engines entered the market around 2023. The engine block, cylinder head and many other components remain largely identical to the previous version.

Important Tensioner Installation Information

When installing the timing chain tensioner, ensure that only the smaller locking mechanism is engaged.

After installation, the mechanism is released by turning the intake camshaft adjuster at the locking tool with a torque of 20 Nm in the engine’s direction of rotation.

Reference Tightening Torques

Reference: EB2LTD UE64 1.2L petrol engine

• Intake camshaft adjuster: preload with 20 Nm clockwise, final tightening torque 40 Nm
• Exhaust camshaft adjuster: preload with 20 Nm counterclockwise, final tightening torque 40 Nm
• Crankshaft centre bolt: 50 Nm + 190°

Always verify the applicable tightening specifications in the manufacturer’s repair documentation.
