Valvetronic Sliding Block Tool for BMW Mini PSA as 119573

This specialized tool is designed for releasing, pre-tensioning, and precise alignment of the sliding blocks on the return spring of the eccentric shaft in Valvetronic systems. It is essential when working on the valve lift control mechanism to ensure correct positioning and safe assembly.

Additional Information

This tool is designed as a complement to item.no. 115419 (Valvetronic valve spring compressor), enabling complete and safe servicing of the Valvetronic system.

 

Original tool numbers are for identification purposes only. This is not an original OEM tool.

1. Removal:

• Remove the cylinder head cover
• Remove the eccentric shaft return spring using tool, part no. 115419 (see additional tools)
• Position the pliers under the bearing support on the sliding blocks (guide blocks)
• By applying tension with the pliers, the screws can now be loosened and subsequently removed

CAUTION: Do not release the pliers before the screws have been removed, as the sliding block may otherwise become misaligned or jam!

2. Installation:

• Check the installation position of the roller rocker arms
• Install the sliding block and ensure correct guidance of the intermediate lever rollers
• Fasten the two screws (always follow manufacturer specifications), tighten them to 5 Nm, then loosen them again by 90°
• Preload the sliding block using the special pliers
• Then tighten the two screws to a final torque of 10 Nm (observe manufacturer specifications!)
• The pliers can now be removed
