This holding tool is required for counter-holding the vibration damper during removal of the crankshaft pulley on BMW and Mini W11 and W17 engines.

It allows safe and controlled loosening of the crankshaft central bolt, especially during operations such as timing chain replacement or crankshaft seal service.

Design Advantage

Due to design changes in crankshaft pulleys (before and after 04/2004), an adapter plate is typically required.

This tool features a dual bolt pattern, covering both versions and eliminating the need for an additional adapter (as 118441).
