This extra-long and slim fan clutch hex key is designed for loosening and tightening the internal hex bolts used on Mercedes-Benz viscous fan clutches.

Its slim design allows access where conventional tools cannot be used due to limited space. The integrated 1/2" square drive also enables the tool to be used for releasing the serpentine belt tensioner on many Mercedes-Benz engines.

By combining several special tools into one design, it covers a wide range of petrol and diesel engines.

Usage

Example: Mercedes-Benz OM602.982 (W210)

Remove the fan shroud and fan shroud ring.
Leave the serpentine belt installed.
Lock the water pump pulley using a suitable holding tool (Item No. 20017).
Loosen and remove the central bolt of the viscous fan clutch together with the cooling fan.
