This professional special tool set is designed for correct adjustment, repair and servicing of balance shafts on Opel, Peugeot, Citroën and Toyota gasoline engines from the EB0, EB2, D12, F12 and HM engine families.

The set is intended for use during engine repairs, timing adjustments and repairs following damage to the gear drive system. Correct balance shaft adjustment is essential after engine overhaul or gear drive failures.

The kit also includes tools for replacing the balance shaft and servicing the balance shaft bearings in the engine block.

Important Information

Inspection or adjustment of the balance shaft or balance weight can be carried out with the engine installed by removing the crankshaft pulley.

Replacement of the balance shaft or bearings requires gearbox removal.

Balance Shaft Adjustment Procedure

For correct timing position adjustment of the balance shaft, the crankshaft must first be set to top dead center (TDC) using a locking pin.

With the center bolt of the balance shaft loosened, the gear remains engaged with the crankshaft while the external balancing weight can be rotated and adjusted using the supplied tools.
