Transfer Case Output Shaft Seal Installer for VTG300 / ATC35L, as BMW 271450, item.no. 0495243

Special tool designed for installation of the radial shaft seal on the output shaft flange of BMW transfer cases used in all-wheel-drive vehicle models equipped with VTG300 / ATC35L transfer cases.

According to the BMW repair guidelines, the radial shaft seal must always be replaced during leakage repairs or servicing of the output shaft on transfer cases with designation ATC300 / ATC35L.

The seal is installed using the mounting tool together with a rubber or plastic hammer.

Service Notes

The driveshaft flange can be evenly levered out or pressed out using suitable bolts against the housing while using protective support material.

If only this shaft seal is replaced, the propeller shaft can remain installed in the vehicle.

Reference tightening torque:
(BMW 228i F22 reference)

• Propeller shaft to transfer case: 20 Nm + 45°
