Valve and Bucket Tappet Holding Tool for Hyundai, Kia, Nissan and Toyota, as 09220-2D000

The holding tool is used to retain the bucket tappet in its lowered position during valve clearance adjustment.

The tappet must first be depressed using a separate tool. The holder is then positioned to keep the tappet down, allowing the valve adjustment shim to be removed easily.

For depressing the bucket tappet, use with Item no. 116578 is recommended.

Operating Principle

1. Press the bucket tappet downward with a suitable separate tool.
2. Position the holding tool to retain the tappet in the depressed position.
3. Remove the valve adjustment shim.
4. Replace the shim as required and remove the holding tool according to the applicable repair procedure.
