Procedure

  1. Rotate the crankshaft clockwise until cylinder 1 is at Top Dead Center (TDC) and all timing marks are aligned.

  2. Insert both camshaft locking tools between the camshaft sprockets.

  3. Tension the belt tensioner against the spring force and secure it with the locking pin.

  4. The timing belt can now be removed.


Important Note

  • If the timing belt is to be reused, mark its direction of rotation with chalk before removal.
