Designed to hold the crankshaft pulley/flange in position during removal and installation. Prevents crankshaft rotation, allowing safe application of high torque when loosening or tightening central bolts.

For specific applications such as the A20DTH engine, note that the bolt uses a left-hand thread and is tightened to 340 Nm.
