This specialized puller tool is developed for safe removal of the crankshaft pulley (harmonic balancer) on Mini W10 and W11 engines. It enables controlled extraction while minimizing the risk of damage to the crankshaft and surrounding components.
Design & Functionality
The tool features a slotted pressure plate, allowing flexible adjustment to accommodate both types of W11 pulleys. The working range covers bolt circles from 30 mm to 85 mm, ensuring broad compatibility.
A central pressure screw with a ball tip ensures even force distribution during removal, reducing stress on components and improving operational control.
To protect the crankshaft, a dedicated pressure pin is included. This must be installed into the crankshaft prior to using the puller, preventing damage to the crankshaft nose during extraction.
Special Instructions for W10 Engines
For W10 engines, the mounting procedure differs slightly. The bolt heads with M8 washers must be positioned behind the pulley using a bayonet-style insertion.
For proper fixation to the puller plate, additional hardware is required:
- 3 × washers
- 3 × M8 nuts

Important Technical Note
The pressure pin must always be installed before applying the puller. Skipping this step may result in permanent damage to the crankshaft.
