This special tool set is designed for the removal and installation of front wheel bearings on Renault Twingo III and Smart 453 models equipped with wheel hubs without a through-bore.
Unlike conventional wheel bearing systems, the wheel hub cannot be drawn back into position using a standard threaded spindle after bearing replacement. This set provides the necessary tools to safely remove and install the wheel bearing and wheel hub directly on the vehicle without removing the steering knuckle or wheel bearing housing.
In addition to this vehicle-specific application, the included wheel bearing tool kit also offers broad universal workshop applications for many other vehicles.

Procedure (vehicle raised, wheel and brake removed)
- Loosen the central nut on the inner side of the steering knuckle. We recommend using a counterhold tool (Item No. 115936). It may be helpful to first release the staked locking tab using a screwdriver.
- The wheel hub can now be removed using the supplied forcing screws together with a slide hammer and wheel hub flange, or by striking it from the inside with a hammer (reinstall the nut beforehand to protect the threads).
- Remove the inner bearing race that remains on the wheel hub using a suitable puller (Item No. 106651A).
- Remove the retaining ring using suitable circlip pliers (Item No. 117498).
- Using an appropriate receiving cup and pressure plate, press the wheel bearing out of its seat (M24x1.5).
- Clean all affected components and press the new wheel bearing into the steering knuckle using suitable pressure plates, with the magnetic sensor ring facing inward. Ensure the bearing is seated squarely and evenly.
- Install the retaining ring.
- Screw the appropriate adapter (M24x1.5) from the driveshaft pulling tool set (Item No. 117899) onto the shaft and use the sleeve and spindle to draw the wheel hub into position. During this process, the receiving cup must support the inner bearing race.
- Tighten the central bolt, stake the locking tab, and install the protective cap.
