Headlight and Bumper Alignment Tool for Audi VW, as T40281

This special tool is designed for adjusting the headlights and bumper panel gaps on selected Audi and Volkswagen vehicles.

The spline profile engages securely with the adjustment nut, while the centring tip ensures accurate guidance. Its 300 mm blade provides access to deeply positioned adjusters and helps prevent damage to the headlight adjustment mechanism.

The tool can also be used to set the alignment between the bumper cover, bonnet and headlights.

Adjustment Procedure

1. Remove the T-profile locking screw located inside the adjustment nut.
2. Insert the alignment tool, used as T40281, into the adjustment nut.
3. Turn the adjustment nuts gradually inwards or outwards.
4. Adjust the bumper cover until the specified panel gaps are achieved:
   • Bumper cover to bonnet: 4.5 mm
   • Bumper cover to inner edge of headlight: 2.5 mm
   • Bumper cover to lower edge of headlight: 2 mm
5. Check that all adjacent panels are aligned evenly before securing the adjustment.
