The Impact Spindle is designed for demanding pressing and extraction operations where high release force is required. It is particularly effective for removing seized, corroded, or tightly fitted components such as bearing bushings, suspension bushings, and other press-fitted parts.

Unlike grease-hydraulic spindles, the impact spindle can be used in applications where heat is applied with a torch, making it a practical solution when hydraulic spindle seals could otherwise be damaged.

Applications

Suitable for:

  • Bearing bushing installation and removal
  • Suspension bushing service
  • Releasing seized press-fit components
  • Driveshaft removal
  • Wheel hub removal
  • Workshop pressing operations
  • Heavy-duty extraction work

Compatibility

The spindle features a standard:

  • UN 1.1/2" × 16 thread

Compatible with:

  • Press frames such as Item no. 117765
  • Driveshaft service tool – Item no. 23047
  • Wheel hub service tool – Item no. 103115
  • Other systems using UN 1.1/2" × 16 threads

Instructions for Use

  1. Install the impact spindle into a suitable crossbeam or press frame.
  2. Tighten securely using an impact wrench.
  3. Strike the spindle head with a hammer to generate the force required to loosen the seized connection.
  4. Repeat as necessary until the component is released.

For optimal performance and service life, the spindle threads should be lubricated before each use with a suitable grease, such as:

  • Driveshaft grease
  • Multipurpose workshop grease
  • Equivalent high-pressure lubricants

Key Benefits

  • High release force for seized components
  • Suitable for use with heat-assisted repairs
  • Durable construction for demanding workshop environments
  • Standard UN thread for broad compatibility
