This tool kit is designed specifically for removing and installing diesel high-pressure pumps on Opel and GM diesel engines. Using this kit allows repairs to be performed precisely according to manufacturer specifications.

Time-Saving and Efficient

The tool enables high-pressure pump replacement without disassembling the timing chain. Normally, removing the pump would require transmission disassembly, resulting in significant additional labor. This special tool allows the job to be completed efficiently within the recommended time.

Simple Installation

No timing adjustments are needed when using this tool. Note: The high-pressure pump drive cover must be punctured and lifted out with a screwdriver. Reinstallation uses standard tools.

Vehicle Compatibility

Suitable for the following models:

  • Astra (2013–2018)

  • Combo D GTC (2015–2018)

  • Insignia (2015–2018)

Important Note

Please remember to order a new cover for the high-pressure pump drive. The cover is destroyed during removal and must be replaced.

Preparatory Work

  • Remove the intake manifold.

  • Remove the control unit.

  • Manual transmission vehicles: Secure the shift tower in the basic position with a suitable pin before disassembly.

  • Automatic transmission vehicles: Remove the additional pressure accumulator for automatic transmission fluid.

  • Remove all necessary fuel lines and seal the openings.

  • Remove the gearbox/holder screw.

1. Removal of the Closure Cover

  • Use the removal tool and removal mandrel, placing it on the engine block.

  • Push the mandrel through the cover and rotate it 90°.

  • Pull firmly on the handle of the removal tool to remove the cover.

2. Removal of the Injection Pump

  • Attach the locking tool, ensuring the three elongated holes of the fuel injection pump drive sprocket engage.

  • Align the tool ring to allow a 1/2” extension to be attached.

  • Loosen the pump nut through the inner sleeve using the 1/2” extension to hold counterforce.

  • Remove the two screws of the injection pump. If necessary, lightly tap the pump with an aluminum or plastic hammer to loosen.

  • Insert the pressure spindle into the pressing tool – WARNING: Do not use hammering or pushing movements on the pump, as this may damage the drive gear and cause a loose fit of the cone press.

  • Use a 1/2” tool to press out the pump shaft and gear.

  • The tool must remain installed until the injection pump is securely mounted again; otherwise, timing must be checked.

3. Installation of the Injection Pump

  • Replace the injection pump sealing ring.

  • Transfer the position of the locking wedge to the thread and shaft tip using a personal mark.

  • Position the injection pump on the chain wheel and chain slot. Use a mirror to verify alignment.

  • Press the pump by hand and tighten the mounting screws (2 × 25 Nm).

  • Screw on the nut and tighten to 64 Nm, holding with the 1/2” extension.

4. Installation of the Closure Cover

  • The tool is also used to install the new closure cover.

  • Place the plug in the tool and position it flush on the lower housing of the timing chain cover.

  • Drive in by striking firmly on the handle.

  • The vehicle can now be reassembled.

Additional Torque Values (if needed)

  • Gearbox holder screw: 58 Nm

  • Shift tower: 2 × 20 Nm

  • Intake manifold–cylinder head screws: 9 × 12 Nm

  • Intake manifold screws: 9–10 Nm
