Crankshaft Vibration Damper Counter Holder for 2.0L B4154 B4204 D4204 Volvo Engines, as 9997495

During timing belt replacement on Volvo B4154, B4204 and D4204 engines, loosening the crankshaft center bolt is required.

This professional special service tool, consisting of a crankshaft counter holder and adapter plate for the engine mount bracket, allows safe and controlled service procedures.

The counter holder is mounted to the crankshaft pulley using four fixing bolts, while the adapter plate is secured to the mounting bracket.

According to the manufacturer, two holding methods are possible depending on the repair procedure.

Application Methods

Method 1

If only the vibration damper is being replaced, the counter holder is positioned vertically downward and held manually.

Method 2

If the engine mount is removed, for example during timing belt replacement, the adapter plate is mounted to the support bracket and the counter holder is inserted into the designated recess to lock the crankshaft securely.

• Timing belt tensioner pulley: 20 Nm + 45°
• High-pressure pump sprocket (outer bolts): 10 Nm
• Inner nut: 85 Nm

• Crankshaft pulley (outer bolts): 35 Nm + 50°
• Crankshaft pulley (center bolt): 30 Nm + 180°

Important Information

These engine series use a diamond-coated friction washer beneath the vibration damper and timing belt sprocket.

To prevent self-loosening of the crankshaft center bolt, the bolt should always be replaced during service procedures.
