Special press sleeve for installing the flywheel-side crankshaft oil seal on selected VAG engines.

Before installation, the PTFE oil seal is expanded using installation aid item no. 117750, as T10122/1, and placed onto guide sleeve item no. 117751, as T10122/2.

Installing the Crankshaft Oil Seal

The crankshaft oil seal is pressed into position using this press sleeve, for use as VAG T10122/3, Ford 303-505 and Ford 21-208.

Wherever possible, press the oil seal into position by hand. If necessary, use careful, light taps to seat it evenly without damaging the seal.

Preventing Damage and Oil Leakage

There is a risk of the sealing lip folding over during installation, which can damage the oil seal and cause oil leakage.

After installation, check that the oil seal and its sealing lip are positioned correctly.

For removal, we recommend puller hooks item no. 116542, for use as T20143.
