This release tool set is designed for disconnecting Spring-Lock couplings on refrigerant and air conditioning lines used on many vehicles from the VAG group. These connections are commonly found on A/C lines and require a dedicated tool for safe release during service and repair work.

The tool is especially useful on Audi models from model year 2008 onward, where A/C lines located at the bulkhead use Spring-Lock connections that are difficult to access with standard tools. Directly behind the coupling, the aluminium line often continues at a 90° angle. For this reason, the release tools are specially shaped with a cut-out that allows correct positioning in the locking mechanism without interfering with the bent line section.

If the connection cannot be separated, for example due to corrosion, the line may need to be cut and repaired using the corresponding repair kit, depending on the application and parts catalogue.
