Timing Chain Holding Tool (Part 1/2) – Mercedes OM651 – as 651589034000

This tool is used for holding and guiding the timing chain during pull-through on Mercedes OM651 engines.

On these engines, the timing chain is located at the rear (bulkhead side), requiring controlled handling during replacement to prevent chain skipping.

System Requirement

This tool must be used together with:

• item.no. 112478 (Part 2/2)

Additional Recommended Tools

For proper operation, the following tools are recommended:

• item.no. 104061 – pulley holding and turning tool
• item.no. 112479 – camshaft sprocket removal tool

These tools are also included in timing tool set item.no. 999105.

A timing chain cutting and riveting tool is also required, e.g.:
