Engine Timing Tool Kit for Opel 2.0 CDTi Diesel (B20DT / D20DT – Timing Belt & Chain)

This comprehensive engine timing tool kit is designed for Opel 2.0 CDTi diesel engines from the B20DT and D20DT series (from approx. 2014 onwards).

These engines feature a front-mounted timing belt system driving the crankshaft, camshafts and high-pressure fuel pump. In addition, the camshafts are synchronized internally via a gear-side timing chain.

This tool set is specifically designed to support:

• Timing belt replacement
• Timing chain service
• High-pressure fuel pump adjustment
• Full engine timing procedures

It contains all required timing and locking tools for complete service operations.

• Crankshaft locking and positioning
• Camshaft alignment and timing adjustment
• High-pressure fuel pump synchronization (0-position setup)

Important Notes

Crankshaft Bolt:

• The crankshaft central bolt has a left-hand thread.

D20DTH Engine Identification Warning:

• 1956cc engine → GM engine → tool is compatible
• 1997cc engine → PSA DW10 engine → tool is NOT compatible
  → Recommended tools: item.no. 999051 or 999080

Incorrect identification may lead to selecting the wrong tool and repair procedure.

Technical Note – High-Pressure Pump Alignment Tool

The alignment tool for the high-pressure pump sprocket (use as EN-51413):

• Is used only for initial positioning (0-position) with the timing belt removed
• Must be removed before installing the new timing belt
• Will not align with housing holes when the belt is installed (old or new)
• Will also not fit after belt tensioning, as all gears rotate clockwise during tensioning

This behavior is normal and identical to OEM tools.
