Valve and Bucket Tappet Holding Tool for Toyota, as 09248-05420

The holding tool is used to retain the bucket tappet in its lowered position during valve clearance adjustment.

The tappet must first be depressed with a separate tool. The holder is then positioned to keep the tappet down, allowing the valve adjustment shim to be removed easily.

For depressing the tappet, use with Item no. 116578 is recommended.

Operating Principle

1. Press the bucket tappet downward using a suitable separate tool.
2. Position the holding tool to retain the tappet in the depressed position.
3. Remove the valve adjustment shim.
4. After completing the work, remove the holding tool according to the applicable repair procedure.

Suitable for compatible valve-train applications from:

Toyota, Lexus, Hyundai, Kia and Nissan.

Compatibility must be verified according to the engine and bucket tappet design.
