Universal Adjustable Glow Plug Reamer and Seat Cutter, M10×1.0 and M10×1.25

Before installing a new glow plug, the glow plug bore and sealing cone should be thoroughly cleaned and reconditioned.

Removing carbon deposits and contamination helps reduce the risk of stripped threads, leaks, insufficient heat transfer and glow plug breakage during subsequent removal.

Universally Adjustable Design

The tool can be adjusted to match the installation depth of the respective glow plug. The threaded adapter guides the tool securely in the cylinder head, while the adjustable depth stop controls the working depth.

Suitable for glow plug threads:

• M10×1.0
• M10×1.25

Application

1. Place the glow plug next to the main tool body.
2. Adjust the appropriate threaded adapter to the required length, measured from the beginning of the thread to the sealing cone.
3. Lock the adjustable depth stop in position.
4. Screw the threaded adapter into the cylinder head.
5. Apply grease to the main tool body to collect loosened deposits.
6. Insert the tool into the glow plug bore while continuously turning it clockwise until it reaches the stop.
7. After cleaning, continue turning the tool clockwise while withdrawing it from the bore.

Recommended Follow-Up Cleaning

After using the reamer and seat cutter, clean the bore around the centre electrode with a grease-coated brush, such as item no. KT11049. This helps remove any remaining deposits from the glow plug bore.
