This special wrench is designed for operating the belt tensioner assembly on Volvo B420T and D4202T engine generations equipped with a starter generator.
The tensioner incorporates a spring-loaded assembly that surrounds the generator. Its high spring force and the restricted position of the operating pulley prevent the use of a conventional ring spanner.
To release the tension or replace the ribbed belt, press the tensioner assembly counterclockwise at the lowest pulley using the special wrench.
