Crimping Procedure
- Insert the required die pair into the front of the crimping tool. Select H6 or H7 according to the cable cross-section.
- Pass the cable through the appropriate cable seal.
- Remove the cable insulation. The stripped conductor must extend through the complete crimping section of the terminal.
- Position the cable inside the connector terminal. The cable seal must sit beneath the retaining tabs, while the stripped conductor must cover the complete conductor-crimping section. This is necessary to provide a secure electrical connection.
- Crimp the connector terminal.
- After crimping, check that the cable is securely connected to the terminal and that the seal is correctly positioned beneath the retaining tabs.
Removing a Connector Terminal
- Insert the release tool into the connector housing from the front.
- Push the release tool into the connector until the terminal’s locking tabs are released.
- Pull the cable together with the terminal out through the rear of the connector housing.
