This tool is designed for installing and removing valve keepers on BMW V8 N63 engines. The restricted working space on these engines makes correct keeper positioning difficult without a dedicated tool.

It is designed as a complementary tool for the valve depressor, Item no. 50008.

Valve Keeper Removal

One end of the tool features a magnetic tip. After the valve spring retainer has been compressed, the magnetic end allows the valve keepers to be extracted from the valve stem.

Valve Keeper Installation

Before installation, the valve keepers are inserted into the opposite end of the tool.

Once the valve spring retainer has been compressed, the tool is positioned over the valve stem to place the keepers accurately in their mounting position.
