This brake fluid tester is designed for fast and accurate evaluation of brake fluid condition by measuring moisture content within the fluid.
Brake fluid is hygroscopic, meaning it absorbs moisture over time. As water content increases, the boiling point of the brake fluid decreases. If the boiling point becomes too low, the fluid may begin to boil under high operating temperatures, potentially causing reduced braking performance or brake system failure.
Regular testing of brake fluid is important for maintaining safe braking performance and determining when brake fluid replacement is required.
The integrated 4-LED indicator system provides a quick visual evaluation of brake fluid condition, allowing technicians to assess service requirements rapidly and efficiently.
Suitable for professional workshops and routine vehicle maintenance.

Calibration
The unit should be calibrated before use. Perform the calibration procedure as follows:
- Fold out the test probe.
- Clean and dry the test probe.
Note: The test probe consists of an aluminum tube and two electrical contacts. - Immerse the test probe approximately 2 cm into fresh brake fluid or hold the test probe in dry air.
Note: The brake fluid used for calibration must be the same type as the brake fluid that will later be tested. - Press and hold the "ON" button and wait approximately 3 seconds.
- Using a suitable screwdriver, carefully adjust the calibration potentiometer until the first green LED illuminates and all other LEDs remain off.
- Release the "ON" button. Calibration is now complete and the device is ready for operation.
Note: Keep the "ON" button pressed continuously until the calibration process has been completed.
Notes
- If one or more LEDs flash or the buzzer sounds when pressing the "ON" button, the battery is discharged and must be replaced. To replace the battery, slide off the battery cover and replace the depleted battery with a new battery of the same type (9V, 6F22 or equivalent). Reinstall the battery cover.
- Always calibrate the device before testing brake fluid.
- Do not use the device if it is damaged or malfunctioning.
Result Interpretation
- If both green LEDs illuminate, the brake fluid quality is good.
- If the yellow LED illuminates, the brake fluid quality is poor.
- If the red LED illuminates and the integrated buzzer sounds, the brake fluid quality is very poor and braking performance may be negatively affected.
The brake fluid must be replaced immediately.
