Specialized tool for securely holding and locking the crankshaft via the flywheel during engine service procedures on Opel 2.0 CDTi engines with manual transmission.
Function
The tool locks the flywheel to prevent crankshaft rotation, allowing safe and controlled work when loosening or tightening fasteners.
It is specifically designed for vehicles with manual transmission, where standard counter-holding tools for automatic transmissions are not suitable.
Installation & Procedure
The tool is mounted through the starter motor opening:
- Remove the starter motor
- Disconnect the crankshaft sensor connector
- Insert the locking tool into the starter opening
- Secure it using a fastening bolt
- Ensure correct alignment of the vibration damper locating pin and mark its position
Torque Reference
Example specification (reference: Opel Insignia A 2.0 CDTi, B20DTH):
- Crankshaft pulley bolts: 20 Nm + 90°
