For engines in the 271.9.. series, a long 27 mm socket is required for camshaft central valves. This is available separately under item.no. 101199 – as 001589650900.

Certain tools often listed (e.g. for chain tensioner cap installation or guide rail resetting) are intentionally not included, as they can be replaced with standard workshop tools.

Torque Specifications

(Reference: C-Class W204 M271.952 – always follow manufacturer instructions)

• Camshaft adjuster (central valves): 90 Nm
• Crankshaft central bolt: 200 Nm + 90°
• Cylinder head cover: 9 Nm
• Chain tensioner: 40 Nm
• Water pump: M6 = 9 Nm, M8 = 20 Nm
• Camshaft bearing housing: upper 10 Nm + 90°, lower 14 Nm
• Balance shaft gears: M10 = 40 Nm, M14 = 100 Nm
