This special tool set simplifies the removal and installation of valve stem seals. It is also suitable for driving or pressing new valve guides into the cylinder head.

The included removal pliers grip and extract old or damaged valve stem seals. Seal replacement can be performed without removing the cylinder head when the valves are safely held in position with compressed air.

Suitable compressed-air adapters are available separately, for example with the valve spring removal set, Item no. 50008.

Removing Valve Stem Seals

Grip the old or damaged valve stem seal with the removal pliers and carefully pull it from the valve guide.

When working with the cylinder head installed, use a suitable compressed-air adapter to prevent the valve from dropping into the combustion chamber.

Installing Valve Stem Seals

Use one of the two installation mandrels to press the new valve stem seal evenly into position.

Before installation, cover the valve keeper grooves to prevent them from damaging the new seal during fitting.

Removing Valve Guides

Replacing a valve guide requires the cylinder head to be removed.

Drive the old guide out from the combustion-chamber side using a suitable drift.

Installing Valve Guides

Select the installation adapter matching the valve guide diameter. Fit it to the adapter-holder mandrel, then press or carefully drive the new valve guide into the cylinder head.
