This professional special tool set is designed for removing and installing injectors on 1.0L 3-cylinder and 1.5L 4-cylinder direct injection EA211 engines used in VW, Audi, Seat, Skoda and Ford 1.5L EcoBoost vehicles.
Direct injection injectors are often seized inside the cylinder head due to heat and carbon deposits. Limited installation space also makes injector removal difficult without dedicated tools.
The use of conventional hand tools such as pliers or pry bars is strongly discouraged. High-pressure injectors may become damaged, causing fuel leaks and potential vehicle fire hazards.
Combined Adapter Plate Design
STAHLMAXX has developed a combined version of the otherwise separate removal adapter plates used as:
- VW T10581
- VW T10629
This design covers multiple engine generations:
- For 3-cylinder engines, the tool is used according to OEM repair procedures
- For 4-cylinder engines, the plate can be reversed and used for cylinders 1–3 or 2–4
This provides broad workshop coverage while maintaining manufacturer repair specifications and cost-efficient servicing.
Preparation Procedure
- Remove the intake manifold
- Engines equipped with a vacuum pump use a special locking mechanism on the line connection which must be unlocked before removal
- Remove the high-pressure fuel lines using a line wrench
- Remove the fuel rail
Injector Removal Procedure
- Install the impact sleeve onto the injector
- Loosen the injector using light hammer strikes
- Install the base plate using the knurled screws
- On 4-cylinder engines:
- first use cylinders 1–3
- then reverse the plate for cylinders 2–4
- Install the removal sleeve and puller into the upper injector groove
- Tighten the screw hand-tight
- Use a torque wrench set to 5 Nm to loosen the injector
If the injector cannot be removed:
- Repeat the impact sleeve procedure
Important:
- Do not exceed 5 Nm extraction force
- Exceeding this value requires injector replacement
Injector Installation Procedure
Replacement of the following components is mandatory:
- Teflon combustion chamber seal
- Rubber sealing ring
- Support rings
- Injector retainer
Support ring installation order:
- Larger support ring
- Smaller support ring
- Rubber sealing ring
Installation procedure:
- Remove the old Teflon seal using a suitable hook tool
- Clean the injector shaft carefully
- Install the mounting cone onto the injector
- Slide the Teflon seal onto the injector using fingers and installation sleeve
- Use the calibration sleeve with light rotational movement until fully seated
Important:
- The injector must be installed within 5 minutes after calibration
- Otherwise, recalibration is required
- Ensure proper alignment of the injector guide pin into the cylinder head

Special tool set for the removal and installation of fuel injectors on 3-cylinder 1.0L and 4-cylinder 1.5L direct injection engines from Volkswagen, SEAT, Škoda Auto, Audi and Ford Motor Company (1.5L EcoBoost only).
The injectors / direct injection fuel injectors are often seized in the cylinder head seat. Due to limited space, removal is frequently difficult without the correct tooling.
It is strongly recommended not to remove the injectors using standard hand tools (pliers or pry bars). The injectors operate under high pressure, and damage may result in leaks and vehicle fires.
STAHLMAXX has designed a combined version of the otherwise separate removal adapter plates (such as T10581 and T10629).
This solution covers all engine generations:
- On 3-cylinder engines, the tool is used according to the OE repair manual.
- On 4-cylinder engines, the plate can be reversed and used depending on injector position for cylinders 1–3 or 2–4.
This provides mechanics and workshops with broad vehicle coverage and a cost-effective working method while still complying with manufacturer specifications.
Instructions for Use / Procedure
(Reference vehicles: VW Golf 2018 1.5L TSI engine DACA, Audi A3 1.0 TFSI engine DLAA and VW Polo 1.0L TSI engine DKJA)
Preparatory Work
- Remove the intake manifold
(Engines equipped with a vacuum pump feature a special locking mechanism on the line; unlock it before disconnecting.) - Unscrew the high-pressure fuel lines using a line wrench (e.g. item no. KT09010)
- Remove the fuel rail
Injector Removal
- Position the impact sleeve (such as T10581/3) onto the injector and loosen it with light hammer blows (e.g. using a plastic hammer)
- Install the base plate (such as T10581/1 or T10629/2) using the knurled screws (such as T10581/2 or T10629/3)
On 4-cylinder engines, first work on cylinders 1–3, then reverse the plate for cylinders 2–4 - Position the removal sleeve (such as T10133/16A) together with the puller (such as T10581/4, T10597 or T10629/1) into the upper groove of the injector and initially tighten the screw hand-tight
- Using a torque wrench set to 5 Nm, attempt to loosen the injector
- If removal is not possible, use the impact sleeve again and repeat the extraction process
- Do not exceed 5 Nm torque, otherwise the injector must be replaced
Installation
It is mandatory to replace:
- the Teflon seal to the cylinder,
- the rubber sealing ring,
- the support rings,
- and the retaining clip at the injector inlet.
(The larger diameter support ring is installed first onto the injector, followed by the smaller ring, then the rubber sealing ring.)
- Remove the old Teflon seal using a small hook (e.g. from item no. 32009)
- Clean the injector shaft using a clean cloth
- First slide the installation cone (such as T10581/5) onto the injector, then install the Teflon sealing ring first by hand and then using the installation sleeve (such as T10581/6) until it seats in the groove
- Then slide the calibration sleeve (such as T10581/7) onto the injector with light twisting movements until fully seated in order to “calibrate” the Teflon ring
The injector must be installed within 5 minutes after calibration. Otherwise, the calibration process must be repeated.
During installation, ensure that the locating pin of the injector correctly engages in the cylinder head.
